1. To be able to ensure that all those attending the session are treated with dignity and respect at all times.

2. A knowledge of Safeguarding would be advantageous, however mandatory training will be provided every three years.

1. To assist with the delivery of the services of The Meeting Place as directed by the Team Leader.

2. To assist with the setting up of the room and ensure that all equipment and servers can work safely.

3. To be willing to receive instructions to operate equipment used throughout the session safely.

4.To ensure that Food Safety Regulations are complied with during the session.

5. To work with other team members and support those as required during the session, through activities prepared for all to participate in.

6. To assist with cleaning and clearing of all utensils, equipment and furniture at the end of the session, leaving the area suitable for other hirers to use.

7. To comply with all Health and Safety regulations and risk assessments for Chorley URC whilst in attendance and prior to attending the session.

8. To ensure that any incidents which could be considered a near miss, accident or are a breach of safeguarding policy are recorded and reported to the Team Leader.

The organisation are looking for volunteers to participate in the Community Car Scheme or to drive Dial a Ride minibuses.  

You would be giving your time to people in your own community who are unable to use public transport, have no regular access to a car nor the ability to pay for taxis on a regular basis.

Dial a Ride will provide the Midas training (one day course) to enable volunteers to drive a minibus and pay for a DBS check.

Volunteers will be reimbursed any expenses at £0.40 per mile for the Community Car Scheme and meal expenses for any day trips out.

To help sort food and other donations, place items on shelves and prepare food parcels for delivery and distribution.

  • Navigate the internet to look up information
  • Cut and paste information into a document
  • Gather information to help a client complete a form that is vital to their needs - such as acting as a scribe and inputting the client's answers into an online form
  • Provide written notes on action a client might need to take
  • Recognise when a person may require specialist help
You will not give advice in this role but assist clients to carry out activity online to help solve their issues.A minimum of one day per week

Are you approachable, reliable, available for at least one day a week and able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Comfortable using IT and have digital skills as you will scan and attach documents to emails and our internal systems, create new documents etc
  • Able to learn how to use our internal systems as you will ensure client profiles are correct, input new referrals onto our systems and send weekly advice clinic appointments out to partners
  • Retrieve and action client voicemails from our phone system / emails from our online enquiry system
  • Retrieve and action voicemails left by clients on our appointment line
  • Able to assist with inbound and outbound post if required
  • Comfortable when dealing with partner organisations by phone or email
  • Able to work with others undertaking the same role
You will not give advice in this role but assist and support the team to ensure the 'back office' side of the work they undertake with clients is undertaken in a timely manner, accurately recorded and maintained to a high standard.A minimum of one day per week

To drive the team van, collect foods for the Good Food Clubs before the session starts. Upwards of 6 hours a week

DBS (Provided) Safeguarding Training (Provided), Great customer service skills and a passion for supporting our wonderful Charity with a high level of enthusiasm and integrity

Opening and setting up the Wood Hatch (Tuck Shop), stock takes and resupplying, money management, sales cleaning and shutting down at the end of service.Monday to Friday, 12:00 - 13:00, with 30 minutes either side for set-up and shut down. Any availability will be very much appreciated
