Street furniture and street lighting

We are responsible for street furniture that is situated on council land such as:

  • fences
  • signs and posts
  • gates
  • litter bins
  • benches
  • knee rails
  • bollards
  • flag poles
  • notice boards
  • floral planters

If you notice any issues with any street furniture on council land you can report this to us.

Street furniture on the roads and pavements

Lancashire County Council (LCC) are responsible for street furniture that is situated on adopted roads and pavements such as railings and bollards. If you wish to report any issues with street furniture on adopted roads or pavements, then please report this to LCC.

Street lighting

We are only responsible for street lighting on council land such as recreation grounds and Astley Park. If you notice a problem with street lighting on council land, please report this to us by emailing contact@chorley.gov.uk.

 

Street lighting on roads and pavements

Lancashire County Council (LCC) are responsible for street lighting on the adopted roads and pavements. Where roads and pavements have not been adopted, for example on new developments, then the developer is usually responsible for any maintenance. If you want to report any issues with street lighting on adopted roads or pavements, then please report this to LCC.
