We can collect your garden waste for a yearly charge of £30 per bin. If you do not subscribe and pay for this service, we will not be able to collect your garden waste.

Garden waste bins are collected every 2 weeks.

There are no garden waste collections over the Christmas and new year period.

Subscribe for the garden waste collection service

Your garden waste collection subscription:

  • costs £30 per bin regardless of when in the year you subscribe
  • if you need more than 1 garden waste bin, you will need a subscription per bin at a cost of £30 for each
  • cannot be transferred to another property
  • will not be refunded if you move house
  • can be shared with neighbours
  • is valid from 1 May to 30 April.

How garden waste collection subscriptions work

You can subscribe to the garden waste collection service online.

Once you subscribe, you will receive a grey bin and a subscription sticker that must be placed on your bin in a place that our collection crew can easily see. This shows our collection crew that you have paid for the service. There will be instructions in the letter you receive with your subscription sticker.

Grey garden waste bins that do not have a subscription sticker displayed will not be emptied.

Please allow 10 days from payment for your bin and subscription sticker to be delivered. They may be delivered separately, please do not contact us if your bin arrives before your sticker or if your sticker arrives before your bin.

You will need to renew your garden waste subscription in April every year if you wish for collections to continue.

If there is already a grey bin at your property, you will just need to request a subscription sticker, unless there is already a valid subscription sticker on the bin for the current year.

Only garden waste should be placed in the grey bin. View what goes in each bin for more information.

Paying for your garden waste subscription

Pay by Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay and will automatically renew your subscription each year. You can cancel the annual Direct Debit at any time by contacting your bank or building society. If you pay by Direct Debit a new subscription sticker will be sent out in the post each year. This sticker must be placed on your bin in a place that our collection crew can easily see.

Pay by credit or debit card

You can also pay by credit or debit card using our online payments or using the automated payments line 01257 511000. If you pay by debit or credit card you will have to remember to renew your subscription and make a payment each year. If you do not renew your subscription, your grey garden waste bin will no longer be emptied.
